God gave us the emotion of fear to protect us from harm. We are blessed with creative abilities, but fear is real and can cause anxiety, and worry. Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane experienced intense anxiety knowing his arrest and crucifixion were imminent. “And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground,” (Luke 22:44).
When frightened know that “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” ( Psalm 27:1). When we are overcome by fear we too should be like Jesus and pray to our Heavenly Father. Jesus prayed and trusted his Father. He prayed three different times in the Garden of Gethsemane. We too must pray fervently when overwhelmed by fear.
Jesus is always with us and takes away any darkness and fear. God promised to take away our fear; “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind,” (2Timothy 1:7). God cannot lie, His Word is truth, trust God and know he will take away our fear. “If God said it, I believe it, that settles it.” I hope you believe it as well; love and blessings, Carby.
