In a world full of distractions, demands, noise, turmoil, intolerance, etc. it’s hard to be quiet, calm, and still. But it’s in the silence and stillness that I experience the presence and love of God. “Be still and know that I am God,” (Psalm 46:10). It’s in silence that unites my soul deeply in contemplation with the heart of Jesus. As my body, mind, and soul become still God’s love rises lovingly within me,and I share in an overwhelming peace that is beyond all comprehension.
God’s warm glow fills my body completely bringing healing to my body, mind, and emotions. God’s love shields me from the forces that want to disrupt the positive energy that is filling my mind. My goal is to pursue the stillness I need to rest in the peace and love of Jesus Christ. In Nehemiah 8:11, I am told “Be quiet for the day is holy, do not be grieved.” Spending quiet time with God helps make me holy.
Resting in silence and stillness gets me closer to God. As my focus turns to the pursuit of Christ through prayer and meditation I sense the holiness of Jesus Christ within my being. I am reminded of who I am in Christ, and I am filled with peace and love. “ The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,” (Romans 8:16). My hope and prayer is that we find more silence and stillness, and union with God; love and blessing, Carby.
