Waiting on the Lord

We live in a fast pace world. It gets harder and harder to wait. We have fast food places everywhere. We get instant news on our phones, we talk less on our phones, we text because it is easier and quicker. I could go on but I think you get the idea. The Bible and God have a better plan. Psalm 27:14 tells us “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait , I say, on the Lord!”

We need to apply this message that King David is giving us. With everything that King David faced back in the day he always trusted, praised, loved, and listened to the Lord. The phrase “a man after God’s heart” is often used to refer to King David. Like everyone King David was a sinner, and did some horrible things, but his love for God was strong. He also learned to wait on the Lord.

Waiting is not easy. We have been conditioned to want things now. But like King David if we learn to wait on the Lord, our judgement will be better, and we will make better decisions. It takes courage to wait on the Lord. Our ego tells us that we got this. Waiting will strengthen our heart and bring us closer to God. My hope and prayer is that we all spend more time waiting on the Lord. Love and blessings to all, Carby.
