As I reflect today about life and the ups and downs we experience along the way I ran across a poem I wrote a while back. The poem is called “When Life Throws You A Curveball.” It highlights some of the things I want to cover with you today.
As I was was walking one day, I noticed how beautiful the walk along the pathway was. On the left were beautiful red roses, and on the right were the most gorgeous white carnations imaginable.
The aroma was so strong and sweet. I felt like lying down on the carnations, and just letting the scent penetrate deeper into my awareness.
Life is much the same way. At times we have such wonderful moments that our senses and emotions are overflowing with love and joy. Think for a moment of your last most memorable event. Wasn’t it fantastic? Just thinking about it reawakening the experience where you actually can feel the same emotion steering up inside of you once again.
As I continued my journey along the pathway, I noticed up ahead what appeared to be weed like grassy shoots sprouting up, and appeared to be choking the life out of the lovely plants that were along the pathway. Where just moments ago the pathway was so magnificent it now became full of weeds that had run amuck.
What happened in such a short period of time? Isn’t life much the same way? Things appear to be going so smoothly, and all of a sudden life throws in a big curveball. But it happens often and we must be prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually when those curveballs are tossed our way.
The best preparation I know is a strong faith in a power greater then us to give us the courage and strength needed too overcome life’s hardships and curveballs. Life is a marvelous journey. We are in it together, the better we get along and support one another the easier the hardships and curveballs will become.
This poem reflects what can happen in such a short period of time. We can be in cloud nine at one moment, and then our bubble is busted in a matter of seconds with some devastating news. It may be a close family member, a friend, or yourself that has received some terrible news. whether it was an accident, a major illness, or a death in the family. We know that life is unpredictable with all the twists and turns and curveballs it throws at us.
If you are presently going through a valley or a dark period in your life know that God has your back and He would love hearing from you. Our faith is our strength, and knowing God’s will is for us too be well, will give us the confidence we need to overcome any challenge we may face.
Jeremiah 33:6 tells us “For I will restore you too health and I will heal you of your wounds declares the Lord.” When you grow your faith and believe this promise of the Lord you Cannot help but to be healed. Your faith will continue to grow as you repeat the promises of God from the Good Book. As Smith Wigglesworth would say “God says it, I believe it, that settles the.” Very simple but true. I believe that’s one of keys to reading scripture “keep it simple.” Break it down down into small chunks.
My prayer for you and you loved ones is that your faith in God or your Higher Power does not waiver, does not doubt, but stays constant in the belief that God’s grace and mercy will bring blessing to you and your family, and I ask this through His Son Jesus Christ. With love and Godspeed, Carbie out.
You hit the nail in the head! Life does have its up and downs when you least expected
