I wrote the last time that we each have our cross to bare. I believe that we must be broken in our heart for us to emerge stronger and more unified in our relationship with Jesus. Between 1515 – 1582 lived one of the most influential mystics of that time. Saint Teresa of Avila a Spanish sister also suffered from health issues, and experienced many horrific psychological, mental, and emotional setbacks before reassessing her love and devotion to Jesus.
She experienced an overwhelming renewed emotional unification with Jesus, and from that moment on her life began changing completely. She was able to do things and say things with a renewed spiritual energy that her accomplishments are some of the greatest in Spain’s history.
Perhaps her most famous poem has a special significance for anyone suffering from anxiety, fear, lack of patience, and other problems. The following is perhaps her most famous poem.
“Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you, all things are passing, God never changes, patient endurance obtains all things, whom God possesses nothing is wanting.
Joshua also talks about not being afraid in Joshua 1:9 he says: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Sister Teresa in her poem writes about staying calm and not being afraid. To have peace available to us, we must have faith and the courage that Joshua writes about. We must overcome our fear and disheartenment. We must learn to wait, and to be patient for God to act. When we completely surrender to God we have everything we need or want.
As our love and relationship with Christ grows He will comfort our soul, and bring healing too our body. Our bodies represent the temple of God. 1 Corinthians 3:16 puts it this way: “Don’t you know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you.” God’s will is that our body be healthy and clean. This means that any disease, infection, or sickness will be removed and that our temple will flourish.
How will this happen? We need to pray continually, trust that God hears and will answer. Our faith must not waiver, there can not be any doubt whatsoever. Lastly we need to believe that God is the same today as he was centuries ago and as he will be in the future . God is a God of miracles, and never lose hope that your miracle is on the way. Pray, keep praying, and keep hope alive. My prayers for you, your family, and love ones are that the grace of the Lord covers you with His healing power to ease your pain, and to carry your cross with courage and love. Blessings and Godspeed, Carbie out.
I pray and wish the same thing for you and your family! Had a bad week this time.
