The world today including the USA has its share of darkness. Evil cannot thrive in the light. The Bible is clear about that, for the light makes everything visible. This is why it said, “Awake O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light,” (Ephesians 5:14). Christ is the light of the world, following him you will not stumble and fall. “ But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world, (John 9:5 NLT).
Jesus is the way, the light. And the truth. The way of the world is full of temptation and darkness. Our strength to resist temptation comes from our reliance, our faith, and our trust in Jesus Christ. It is possible to live our life in the light, if our priority and focus remains on the love that God has for us. Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life,” (John 8:12).
Christ is the light of the world. The life we choose to live by following Jesus is a life of light and love, free of sin and evil. “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh,” (Galatians 5:16). For us to stay true to Jesus we must let the spirit indwelling in each one of us to guide us away from darkness and into the light of Christ.
