The Mind And Heart Connection

To increase our knowledge and love for Christ we must understand the relationship between our heart and mind. Both are needed for a strong belief and trust in God. Our heart and mind is changed by the Holy Spirt. Those who truly know God will love God with all their heart and mind. Matthew 22:37 tells us “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

What we think in our mind manifests into a belief that drives our behavior and actions. We have to trust God to do what he says he will do. Trust involves the heart. Proverbs, 4:23, “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the spring of life.” Our emotions: love, joy, compassion, fear, anxiety, doubt, and other come from the heart. The Holy Spirit will help us to guide these emotions to glorify God.

Someone once said “What we believe fuels how we behave. Lies instigate destructive feelings. Truth shapes godly reactions and profitable emotional behavior.” The word of God is the ultimate truth. “I am the way and the truth and the life….” ( John 14:6). When we follow Jesus, and obey His commands, we walk in the light and truth. My hope and prayer is that we walk in His truth, love and blessings, Carby.
