The Source of Joy

The world today is suffering. We have more crime, violence, hatred, and evil than in past generations. Nehemiah tells us that “The Joy of the Lord is your strength,” (Nehemiah 8:10). When we seek the Lord he gives us the strength and comfort we need to overcome worldly circumstances. “But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, ‘The Lord is great!’ (Psalm 40:16).

God is our source of joy. God gives us the Holy Spirit that fills our heart, soul, and mind with a heavenly joy that fills us with a love and joy that is inexpressible. “You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him, you trust him; and even now you are happy with a glorious inexpressible joy,” ( 1Peter 1:8).

Joy is found in Jesus. Christ. Through his life and sacrifice on the cross he has given us everything. Jesus is the only way to eternal life. If you believe in Jesus you are saved, and will someday be united with God. We will have trials and tribulations. “Count it all joy my brothers when you meet trials of various kinds,” (James 1.2). Trials will make us stronger, and we will be filled with inexpressible joy as a result. May you experience Christ’s joy; love and blessings Carby.
