Practicing the Presence of God

Each time we think about God, pray to God,we are in God’s awesome presence. Living in God’s presence gives us a deep sense of reverence and awe. St. Francis de Sales put it this way: “Live Jesus!” That means that every moment of every day should be lived in Christ. The Lord replied, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest,” (Exodus 33:14). God’s rest takes away our stress.

Psalm 16:11, “….in your presence there is fullness of joy….” In God’s presence our heart overflows with joy. These moments are treasured wholeheartedly. We are told To be still and know that I am God,” ( Psalm 46:10). In stillness we can listen for God’s guidance. Each time we are still for even a moment we can experience the presence of God.

The wonderful thing is that even during our activities throughout the day, if we pause for even a moment, and reflect on God’s presence we experience his awesomeness because God is everywhere. “I am a God who is everywhere, and not in one place only,” (Jeremiah 23:23, GNT). My hope and prayer is that God , Jesus. and the Holy Spirit are in our presence daily; love and blessings, Carby.
