Life is a blessing. Many have experienced setbacks and suffering. Is there any comfort in knowing that your suffering is a blessing from God? “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life the Lord has promised to those who love him,” (James 1/12).
King David in his distress wrote “Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony,” (Psalm 6:2). When human suffering has a strong grip on us it’s easy to feel weak and vulnerable. Jesus Christ suffered the greatest pain humanly possible when he died on the cross. Our suffering is a blessing because like Christ we honor God with it.
Do what you can and then pray that God will give you the power to do what you cannot, (St. Augustine). As we bear our suffering with the grace that God gives us; I pray that God will provide the power we lack to overcome our suffering. My hope and prayer is that through our suffering we are especially blessed; love and blessing; Carby.
