Many of us have experienced physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual suffering. Why does God allow suffering. The book of Job in the Bible is about a righteous man who loved God. God allowed Satan to take his family, his health, and wealth from him. Even after losing everything Job kept his faith, love, and trust in God. Job grew from this experience, and God gave him back more of everything.
Why God allows suffering we don’t known. Jesus Christ suffered a horrendous death on the cross. Our suffering can never compare to Jesus’ suffering. “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised in those who love him” (James 1:2). Our suffering on earth in the context of eternal life, is painful, but a small price to pay.
Suffering brings us closer to God. God’s grace helps the healing process. God will give us the strength and courage needed to live. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all,” (Psalm 34:29). God never said that life was easy, but God promised eternal life in heaven if we believe in His Son Jesus. My hope and prayer is that we choose Jesus. Love and blessing, Carbie.
