Our Father’s Will

When we apply God’s will in our lives, there is no better way to honor and show our love to our Father. Jesus gives us the perfect example of doing the will of God, and not His own. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus in His humanity was conflicted. He knew He was about to be crucified, but asked God to take it away, but in the next breath he said “Nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will” (Matt. 26:39).

Likewise the Apostle Paul asked God to remove his “thorn in the flesh.” God did not remove it ; instead He said “My grace is sufficient for you” ( 2 Cor. 12:9). When we are suffering we plead with God to lighten our burden, but should we? No one has suffered like Jesus, our own suffering brings us closer to God, and it will help us do His will, not ours. The death of Christ on the cross opens up eternal life to all those who believe. We all suffer here on earth it’s the gateway to eternal life with our Father, and His Son Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

My prayer is that we use our suffering to remind us of how Christ suffered on the cross, and that we too can glorify and honor our Father now and in eternity. Blessings and love to all, Carbie.
