In Times of Trouble

There are times in our life when our troubles get so large that we are at a loss on how to get passed them. This is when we need to turn to God who will give us the strength needed to overcome our troubles.

I’m reminded of a poem “Let not your heart be troubled” by Helen Steiner Rice. “Whenever I am troubled and lost in deep despair, I bundle all my troubles up and go to God in prayer. I tell Him I am Heartsick and lonely too. That I’m deeply burdened and don’t know what to do. But I know He stilled the tempest and calmed the angry sea, and I humbly ask if in His love, He’ll do the same for me. Then I just keep quiet and think on thoughts of peace, and as I abide in stillness my restless murmurings cease.”

Prayer begins to calm us down. When we get still and meditate on God’s love for us, a peace and love of God helps us overcome our troubles like nothing else can. Our troubles get smaller and our Lord and Savior, becomes larger. My prayer is that when in trouble you ask Jesus to guide and comfort you. He loves you and will help, but we have to ask. God bless you all, with love, Carbie.
