The Cost of Freedom

Freedom is one of our most cherished values. No one chooses to be in captivity, tortured, or mistreated. Christ willingly suffered, was tortured, abused, degraded, mistreated, and crucified to save us from sin. His death on the cross allows those who believe in Him the forgiveness of sins. This is the ultimate spiritual freedom. However, at what cost?

Jesus was obedient to His Heavenly Father; he anguished before suffering the most horrific death. Jesus paid a tremendous price for our salvation. For those who choose to follow Christ, you will be blessed in so many ways. You will have forgiveness of sins when you confess that you have sinned; “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins….” (1 John 1:9)

When you are free of your sins you have true freedom. Christ did that, and the cost was extremely high. Freedom is not free. We should cherish our freedom every day of our lives. I know that I do, and I hope that you do too. With love, gratitude, and blessings to all, Carbie.
