Amen

Since childhood we’ve been taught to say amen after saying our prayers. Amen is a natural response at church gathering, revivals, special events, and family gatherings for celebrations, and holidays. However, the significance behind the use of the word amen is what I will share with you today.

The meaning of the word amen “May it be so in accordance with the will of God,” adds another layer of significance to your prayers. Think about it. We are asking God if what I just prayed is in accordance with His will. If it is we have a good chance it will be answered as asked. Jesus taught us to pray “Your will be done.” In the Book of Revelation Jesus is referred to as the “amen,” “The faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.” (Rev. 3:14)

As you conclude your prayer with amen, visualize Jesus being present with you because He absolutely is, and we need to acknowledge that fact (omnipresence). This conscious contact with our Creator deepens our relationship with Jesus. Imagine if we did this every time we saw the word amen. Our prayers would be lifted up to our Heavenly Father on wings of love, and touched by Jesus along the way. With love and gratitude to all; Carbie.
