Strengthening Your Faith

In my last writing I wrote that faith is a virtue however, it is not uncommon for a person to lose faith when they need it the most. in today’s world with all the fighting going on among friends. Strangers, family members, political parties, lawmakers, nations, the list goes on and on. It’s no wonder people lose faith. But I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be this way. There is a way to hold onto your faith, where you will never lose it again.

Jesus is the one who can empower our faith to a level that will make it impossible to ever lose your faith again. The key is to make Jesus the focus of your thinking. What I mean by that is that we need to include Him as both a friend, confidant, and advisor. We definitely need His input when we have choices, decisions, and difficult work to do.

The problem is that we get so busy living our lives that we don’t take the time to ask Jesus for his help and advice. We especially don’t take the time to listen for His answer. He can give us an answer in many different ways. We will more than likely hear His response silently. We need to wait patiently because he will answer. It may be a sign, it may be through someone else, or something else. Just believe that an answer is forthcoming, and expect Him to respond.

It wasn’t until I retired, and had a serious illness, that I began taking the time to understand, and got to know Jesus in entirely new ways. Now I make the time to listen and wait to get an answer before moving on a matter. I’m not there one hundred per cent, but I’m doing it more and more, and trying too be more consistent in asking Jesus for his help.

This is not easy to do. We have so much going on throughout the day. Work, appointments, world events that interfere with our attempts at maintaining a peaceful mind. We are constantly bombarded with distractions throughout the day that it takes everything we have to maintain a balanced and peaceful frame of mind. To stay focused on Jesus takes a Herculean effort on our part.

If you don’t know Jesus please seek Him out. Trust me you won’t regret it, and your life will never be the same. Jesus is the answer and the love of my life. If you haven’t found Him yet, my hope is that you find Him very soon. Until the next time, Godspeed, and have a fantastic day!!
