Most of us I believe have never given much thought that visualization could be a superior form of prayer. I know for a fact that visualization as a form of meditation, helps us to accomplish things that we otherwise would not be able to do.
I’m sure you are familiar with athletes who have visualizing making free throws in their imagination in basketball for example, and when tested their results are the same as if they had been actually practicing free throws; or the golfer, who visualizes a shot before she takes it, and makes an almost perfect shot. The examples are endless, and you may have visualized in a similar manner.
Most of us have visualized for various reasons, and have found it to be most effective. When we visualize we are imagining a mental image in our mind’s eye. This is perhaps our greatest human ability. We are mentally creating images in our mind.
God is the Creator of everything good. He has given us the ability to create also. Creating visual images in our mind is the first step in making it real. I’d like to introduce you to a gentlemen named Lew Miller. Lew was seriously injured during WWII when he received combat wounds in his head, shoulder, and arm. He was captured, not given aid, and mistreated.
His injuries worsened and when he was finally hospitalized he was in terrible shape. He couldn’t walk, talk, and had part of his brain removed. He was a man of prayer; and as a youth he had used visualization to achieve his many successes. He believed he could use visualization, imagery, and prayer to heal. In his mind he believed that this would be the way forward for his healing.
In 1977 Lew Miller wrote a book Your Divine Connection, The Power Of Visual Imagery. I’ll give you the gist of how he was miraculously healed. Before you start ask Infinite Intelligence (God) to oversee the entire process. First, you must be totally relaxed. You must focus on only one thing, so make sure your mind is cleared of everything else. Second, after diligently fact finding turn over all your information to someone engaged in helping you.
Allow that person to work with Infinite Intelligence and your subconscious mind to find a solution for the problem you are focused on. Third, it’s time for you to mentally disengage, allowing the process to work for you. Lastly, and this is important, act as if the problem, whether a serious illness, a physical ailment, or a mental/emotional crisis is gone. See yourself healed in your mind’s eye, and begin acting as if it is totally gone.
What makes visualization with imagery and prayer so powerful? It’s as if your prayers are lifted up to your Creator through a process that He used when He created the Universe, and everything in it. When we pray using visualization and imagery we honor and glorify our Lord and Savior with the deepest respect. Our prayers are laser focused due to the visualization and imagery. Our prayers become supercharged and they travel at a supernatural intensity.
When we pray in this manner it’s as if we have added wings to our prayers. They travel at lightening speed to our Heavenly Father. When we pray using visualization and imagery they have an excellent chance of becoming our new reality. In your mind’s eye we have been seeing ourselves healed, it soon will become our reality, similar to what athletes do. I believe through this type of praying we maximize our creativity, aiding the healing process.
Once again like always we have a choice. We can implement a form of this type of prayer. It will take persistence, dedication, but most of all a belief that anything is possible with God. If we believe, and have faith, and do not doubt that this type of praying will work for us; I believe we will have the best chance for a positive outcome. The choice is yours. Choose wisely and have a fantastic 2022! Love and blessings; Godspeed, Carbie out.
