Living your life the best way that that you can is not always easy. Doing the right thing each and every time is even harder. Our lives seem to be pulled in different directions, and this is what makes loving life to the best of our ability difficult. To help us sort out in making better decisions we need to focus and become aware of what our heart is telling us.
To help his understand how our heart can influence our thoughts I’ll share a poem I wrote a few years back. I called it “Life is a Challenge.”
The beauty of life is that it is both a challenge and a blessing. Life needs to be lived one day at a time. You have a choice each day to live your life as fully as you would like to. If you choose each day to live it as fully as you can, your rewards and blessings will be many.
If you choose to do as little As you can and just want to get by your life will end up being harder with more disappointments. The truth can be painful, I know that so well. The truth can hurt, but the truth can also set you free.
To know what is true, one needs to evaluate what is spoken or read with one’s heart instead of one’s mind. Your heart will not lie to you, while your brain can trick or deceive you. The truth of the matter is that you already know this full well.
So open up your heart wide, allow both positive and negative thoughts in. Your heart will cringe at the negative, but will allow the positive in.
Why is that? The heart always has your best interest in mind. Always looks to your heart for guidance and doing the right thing. Because life is such a challenge, know full well that if you choose to engage your heart it will not let you down.
The poem encourages us to engage our heart more and that it will not let us down. Why is that? I believe scripture has more to say about that. There’s a verse in scripture that says “As he thinketh in his heart so he is.” Proverbs 23:7. You already know that our thoughts have power. And we become what we think about. Our thoughts can energize us to take action. The type of action we take will be primarily based on what we are thinking.
Our heart has tremendous power but we determine how we choose to use it. A loving and compassionate heart will serve us well. It will greatly influence your mind and help us to keep our thoughts positive, and therefore guide us in the direction that we need to move toward.
Another verse from scripture tells us to “Keep thy Heart with all diligence; for our of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23. We need to involve our heart in matters that will impact us. We need to rely on our heart as a guiding light that will help protect us and keep us away from danger.
We need to trust our heart that it will direct us in the best path to take. If you nourish your heart in the right way it t will always have your best interest at heart. We cannot say the same thing about our mind or intellect.
The key is to open up your heart ant let it thrive the way it was designed to thrive. God or your Higher Power has blessed us with a miraculous gift. In my opinion our heart is a miracle in its richness and in everything it does. When you trust your heart with love and kindness it will not let you down.
My prayer for you is that you rely on your heart more and more to guide your thoughts by listening more intently to your heart. Many blessings, Godspeed, Carbie out.
