The Power of Hope

In the last post I mentioned that we have to believe, hope, and trust that our Higher Power will give us what we need to experience ultimate joy. I now want to spend some time on the virtue of Hope. Hope is such a powerful and meaningful expectation that we have when we desire a special outcome.

Hope is empowered by faith and love. When we have Hope we persevere thorough thick and thin, and we don’t quit or give up no matter what. We endure and believe we will eventually receive what we hope for. Hope compliments your faith and love and gives you the courage and strength to keep moving towards your goals, dreams, and the desires of your heart.

There is a scripture verse that prescribed a sixteen-word formula for health and happiness : 1 Corinthians 13:13 put it this way; “And now abide the faith, Hope, and love, these three but the greatest of these is love.” When the storms of life hit us we must drive these three great pillars down deep into the foundation of the earth to ground and protect you as you weather the storms of life.

Imagine trying to milk a cow on a two legged stool. We can’t do it we will lose our balance. The same goes if we lose one of these foundational pillars. We would lose our balance and could potentially spiral downwards. Dr. Peale in his his book “Bible Power for Successful Living.” Says that when someone loses hope they might spiral downward in what he calls the the eight dreadful D words: dismay, discouragement, distrust, disinterest, depression, despair, defeat, disaster, How depressing, and this is why we must never stop hoping.

On the other hand the Bible is clear and the evidence is overwhelming that the positive attitudes of the Bible produces confidence, happiness, health, and well-being while negative attitudes such as cynicism, anger, and irritation destroy not only good relations but can impact your health in a negative way. The bottom line is we should all try to be more positive and with all the potential benefits it just makes good sense to chose positivity over negativity. Until next time, Godspeed, Carbie out.
