Recently I wrote how important it is to maintain a sense of CALM and peace in spite of the world swirling around you. In order to do that your must create an emotional state that can take you there instantly.
This is where your powers of imagination, creativity, and visualization will come to your rescue no matter how difficult your circumstances appear. It’s not a matter of trying harder in fact you must relax more to benefit from the actual tools you will explore to help you reach your desired emotional state.
The first thing to do is take 10-15 deep belly breaths. As you breathe in deeply your belly expands out. Upon exhalation your belly contracts. Focus deeply with each breath going deeper and deeper into a relaxed state. After these deep breaths imagine your spirt rising into the clouds surrounding itself with the angels above enjoying an abundance of peace and calm. Stay in this relaxed state for a minute or two, longer if you want.
You should be feeling much more relaxed and at peace in this new imagined state. You are free to bring back your spirit into your body feeling even greater peace and calm.
This peaceful state feels so good you might want to enjoy it a moment longer. Changing your emotional state from anxiety to peace and calm has a tremendous positive psychological advantage towards better mental health.
In this new found state of relaxation your creativity and visualization are greatly enhanced allowing you to create places in your mind where you can escape to that are calm and peaceful and so beautiful. You have a limitless imagination. You can further deepen this experience with the power of visualization.
To review when you are feeling stressed and anxious. Take 3-5 deep breaths, imagine you are in a beautiful place ( use your creativity) you’ll find yourself getting calmer and calmer and at peace almost instantly. The more you practice this technique the quicker you can becomes more relaxed and calm. There you have it a quick way to change your emotional state.
